A little bit about the Be a Better Treaty Partner online course... In this ten to twelve-hour online course, we look at the history of Aotearoa NZ that wasn't discussed at school, including the lead up to and signing of the Treaty of Waitangi and the land wars of the 1800s. We explore the mechanisms of colonisation and discuss racism, as well as considering the concepts of equity, equality, political correctness and privilege. We also talk about the connection of biculturalism and multiculturalism, and end with some ideas on what we can do right now to start a change.
The course is set up for groups - whether it is a corporate, non-profit or friend group. The platform it is on is interactive and part of the course involves discussion webinars so you have the chance to discuss the content and your responses to it.
