A little bit about Be a Better Treaty Partner...
In this eight-hour online course, we look at the history of Aotearoa NZ that wasn't discussed at school, including the lead up to and signing of the Treaty of Waitangi and the land wars of the 1800s.
We explore the mechanisms of colonisation and discuss racism, as well as considering the concepts of equity, equality, political correctness and privilege.
We also talk about the connection of biculturalism and multiculturalism, and end with some ideas on what we can do right now to start a change.
